State Funded Adoption Assistance
Children eligbile for state-funded adoption assistance are not guaranteed Mediciad eligibility if they are placed outside of or move from the state that has signed their adoption assistance agreement.
The COBRA-reciprocity chart provides state-by-state information on:
- Which states have adopted the COBRA option*
- How these states extend this benefit to children who become residents of their states who have state-funded adoption assistance agreements with another state
*The COBRA option allows the states who elect it to provide Medicaid to chilren who reside in-state and have state-funded adoption assistance ageements with their state.
